LONG POST ALERT: I finished the book I was reading last night and while looking for something else that I had already I came across a book I was given when I was a “gym- rat” “Living the Good Life – Your Guide to Health & Success”
I’m not entirely sure why I didn’t pick up this book to read until right now!
My mind was BLOWN in chapter 1
“Why is it that only one out of 5 people – 20 percent of the population- exercise regularly? Why do the other 80 per cent not bother? Why are they mainly sedentary, or think physical activity is taking out the garbage every Wednesday night? It’s because they think fitness is hard!”
Those are mind blowing stats!! Fitness is so much fun, it doesn’t have to be hard. You don’t have to go to the gym, you don’t have to do high intensity workouts, you don’t have to look like a body builder.
I love fitness! I love going for walks to get a tea from Starbucks with my BF, I love going for walks with my mom and chatting about our days. What about being on a baseball team or recreational hockey? How about paddle boarding in the mornings and soaking in the beauty of nature? How about hitting the mall (no garbage food wink emoticon ) and picking up the pace as you’re walking through there? How about a bike ride with the family? Doing some home workouts while you are watching your favourite show? How about charity fun runs like the Colour Me Rad that you can train for?
Fitness is fun and it’s very important of your overall health and wellbeing… let me stress that again IT IS SO IMPORTANT to ensure you are getting 30 minutes of regular exercise at least 5 times per week! Everyone Can find at least 30 minutes per day if you re-priortize your day to get in that workout.
Top benefits of working out Regularly:
1: Exercise controls weight
2: Exercise helps combat health conditions & disease
3: Exercise improves mood
4: Exercise boosts energy
5: Exercise promotes better sleep
6: Exercise is fun
Exercising is a great way to live a longer more healthy life. If you are looking at losing weight and toning up then you may have to change things up longer than 30 minutes 5 times per week. Aim for 30 minutes every day, your body and mind will thank you for it grin emoticon
